Happy New Year to you all - we hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are staying safe!
We are so sad that we're not starting the year together in school, but we are very excited to see you on Teams! This will be a new challenge for us all...but we'll get through it together!

We are going to use the following timetable for this week to see how we get on...
9:10am - Welcome time - children will join the Teams session.
10:00am - Phonics (we will be using the phonics video links. These will be sent to your e-mail address each morning as the children are in different groups so will have different videos.)
11am- Maths - We will pop the White Rose Maths video below. We will also add additional activities for you to complete at home.
1:30pm- Afternoon Activity - children will join the Teams session - we will read a story together and set the children an activity each day.

Snow Based Activities
Try some of the fun activities below:
1. Winter scavenger hunt - look for things in nature (icicles, footprints, pine cones etc).
2. Make snowflakes using twigs.
3. Make a snow sculpture (Mr Wolf, Grandma's house, an animal etc).
4. Play noughts and crosses in the snow using twigs and stones.
5. Throw snow balls into a snow hoop and see how many points you can score - one point for each snowball in the snow hoop.
Topic
1. Look at Grandma’s basket, label the food inside the basket.
2. Retell the story of Little Red Riding Hood using the finger puppets or role play masks.
3. Little Red Riding Hood had a red cape. Use the cloak template and design your very own cape.

What a great start to the term! We are loving having all of the children back in class. We have missed their lovely smiles. So far the children have loved having the opportunity to discover new skills in the Reception setting.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well, and are enjoying the Summer Holidays! We can't wait to see you all again in September! We have made a little transition video for you to watch, it shows some of the areas in our new classroom, where we go for lunch, and where you will line up every morning. We hope you enjoy it and we'll see you very soon!
