Everyday we will upload Maths and English work for the children to complete in the exercise books provided last week. In addition to this, we will also set a topic research project for the children to complete across the week. When children return to school, all completed work should be sent back into school with them so that we can assess what your child has been able to achieve. Furthermore, your child can access 'Timestables Rockstars' and 'Spelling Shed' (where their weekly spellings will be uploaded) on any device with internet. Children should continue to read their book (either school book or book from home) for at least 20 minutes per day.
Any queries you may have over the work your child has been set, please use the 'Chopwell Year 5 Home Learning' page on Facebook. This page will be monitored from 9am-3pm.

A quick message to the children -
Hi guys, hope you’re all ok and have been showing your parents just how hard you work. We have some things we would like you to do during the Easter holidays.
1. Keep reading - use your books from home and the websites we have sent to your parents to read. Remember you can quiz on some of these books on accelerated reader.
2. Decorate an egg - get out the crafts and decorate an egg. Ask a grown up to post a picture on here for us to see.
3. Eat a chocolate egg (or 2).
4. Help your family with a chore.
5. Complete a fitness video - could be a fitness circuit, yoga workout or dance routine.
5. Keep smiling - we miss your smiling faces.
Enjoy your time. We will be uploading more work from 20th April.

Hello and welcome back! We hope you have all had a restful half term. Miss Grey, Miss Hillary and Mrs Curry have lots of fun and exciting learning opportunities planned for the children for this half term.
This half term the children will be working on the topic 'Journey to the Core' and will be reading 'The Matchbox Diary'. We will be looking at a diary-in-objects kept by a character from the story to recount his journey from Italy to America. We will also be thinking of memories that are important to us and objects which we hold close to us.
PE days this half term are Monday and Wednesday - can children make sure they have PE kits on these days.
