Year 6 Miss Hedley

Deborah from Nexus came to visit us in school to give us information about transportation to our new schools in September. She answered our questions and helped ease our worries around transition.

Y6 visited Nissan to learn about the history of Nissan, the impact it's had on the surrounding area and career opportunities.

In history, we have been studying the Mayans this half term. We have learnt about their way of life, how their society was organised, their beliefs and the decline of the Maya civilisation. We looked at many forms of Mayan art which was heavily influenced by their religion. We used clay to create our own Mayan inspired pots and tiles.

World Book Day - In year 6, we designed front covers to match a blurb which made us want to read on.

Lumiere Workshop

Y6 completed a marine engineering workshop with Sally from the Sea Cadets. They took part in experiments changing density and buoyancy and even created their own submarines. It wasn't easy but they all showed great resilience.

Y6 visited the library and learnt some fascinating facts about recycling, the amount of plastic used by one person in one month and also created a team mascot using recycled materials.
