Music Revolution Day
We had a fun day at The Glasshouse exploring all kinds of music. For the first session we were split into two groups where we had a chance to discover either how to produce music or become professional DJ's. In the Music porduction group we used drum pads, keyboards, percussion and even some beatboxing to produce music! We had to create small loops of sounds that were then layered together. It was amazing how quickly we created a really good piece of music. The other group had a chance to be DJ's. They were looking at songs, creating playlists and exploring how to use DJ decks.
Then, we all came back together for a Djembe Drumming workshop where we learnt to play Zulu warrior rhythms. We learnt how to make the different sounds on the Djembe drums and played rhythm games. Again this was great fun.
In the afternoon we had a real treat - a live music concert. We had a variety of performers to watch including a Rapper, a band called Dilutey Juice and some singers. It was very modern and the children danced, clapped and really enjoyed themselves.
It was a fantastic day.
