Lesson in a box
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Nissan who left us a box full of activities. We have designed Pokemon characters, made origami swans, spotted the difference between cars and built our won lego cars in groups.
We have had great fun exploring catapults and what they were used for. We tested different shapes for strength to make our frames. Next we looked at designs and began making our catapults. Finally we tested our catapults to see how far the projectile would go.
As part of our first history topic, 'The Stone Age' we explored the impotance of Stonehenge. We then worked together to recreate the monument thinking about the two different types of stones used - the larger sarsen stones and the smaller bluestones.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
