The Future is Mine

Year 4 Mr Myers

Year 4 attended a fitness event at Thorpe Academy. All the class thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a brilliant time completing in team games with the older children. Thanks again to Thorpe Academy for having us it was a brilliant day.

In Spring 1 Year 4 have been learning about transport and Trade, and had a wonderful lesson where they sampled baked fair trade bananas and chocolate. They also learnt about sound, linking it to vibrations and designed their own string telephone. In D.T. they designed and constructed their own boats out of clay. Year 4 also took part jointly with year 3 in a basket ball event and attended a fitness event at Thorpe Academy both of which they really enjoyed.

In Autumn 2 Year 4 have been Learning about plants, what they need to do to survive and how changes to the environment can affect them. This learning linked into South America that they learned about in Geography, specifically the Amazon Rain forest.. They also learnt about Sound recording in computing and had fun planning and recording their own short podcast. , how they are used and had a lot of fun creating their own.

In Autumn 1 Year 4 have been experimenting with electricity, creating circuits to light bulbs, spin motors and sound buzzers. This learning was used to create colour spinners and Art Bots. They also learnt about branching databases in computing, how they are used and had a lot of fun creating their own.
